About This Act

From Scorpio Thunderbolt Facebook page:

SCORPIO-THUNDERBOLT is a Punk-Lounge duo from New York City. Their music combines a hint of jazz flavor with a big garage-band aftertaste.

Their format suggests a traditional guitar-and-vocal duo. Ms. Juniper Thunderbolt is a cool, seductive, soulful singer. She's from Sweden and has lived all over the world. Ricardo Scorpio lives in Greenpoint (A.K.A. the Paris of Brooklyn) and plays guitar like Johnny Thunders, with a handful of fancy chords under his belt.

Scorpio and Thunderbolt come together with a pronounced yin-and-yang, two-great-tastes-together-at-last effect. Their songs will make you feel like you're walking down stairs into a dark cellar with a candelabra in one hand and a martini in the other.

From Scorpio Thunderbolt's PR: Hashish-smokers, absinthe-drinkers and young teens who write poetry all agree, "Scorpio-Thunderbolt sounds like the inside of my head!" ... They've been together a little over a year and have been playing little hole-in-the-wall places since late last winter. They have settled in somewhat regularly at Micky's Blue Room (a very nice place!) on Avenue C. Shout-out to Sean! Their gigs have been well attended and their friends drink like fish.

They will be recording their debut cd in the fall for release in the spring. The results will surely delight everyone from astute musicologists to readers of "Jane" magazine. In the meantime, if you know of any automobile manufacturers needing music for their commercials, Scorpio-Thunderbolt is totally available.
